Proud U.S. Marine Sgt. Lisa Bodenburg has known she's wanted to join the Marines since she was a teenager. Time and time again, she didn't let anything stop her from serving her country. Lisa even injured her right leg while serving in Afghanistan. Instead of taking the easy way out, she fought to rehabilitate so she could re-earn her combat role as a DoorGunner.

However, Lisa could lose her hard-earned spot in the Marine Corps yet again over its vaccine mandate.

The insane mandate comes as all military branches struggle to meet recruitment goals. In fact, the Army announced it's only met 40% of its recruitment goals for the year, so it's lowering its standards.

The accomplished Marine currently has orders at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California.

I spoke to Lisa about her inspiring journey, as well as California State Senator Melissa Melendez, who is also a U.S. Navy veteran.

Lisa's views do not represent any military or government organization.
