We are back from our springtime travels and now it’s time to face the music.

Over the past year, the voles, moles, and other critters have destroyed the garden and front yard that we had spent the last several years creating.

This year, we decided to stay home, rebuild the yard and give Square Foot Gardening a try in order to start growing our own veggies.

Follow our journey over several weeks as we wrestle the weeds out of the ground and set up defenses for our new raised bed gardens.

Kristina designs and sews sun and deer protection for the raised beds and Matt tackles digging out all the weeds from our patio pavers, and then re-sanding and sealing them.

Stay tuned for more homestead garden and home projects as well as outdoor adventures this summer at our off-grid home in the mountains of Colorado.
