I set out this fall with the intention of making more trout fishing videos. In this video I show you how to catch brown trout in a river the way I do it. As usual when targeting trout I'm doing some Rooster Tail fishing. I never considered myself to be a master Michigan trout fisherman and I barley knew how to trout fish before this year. I basically taught myself how to trout fish by trial and error and spending time on rivers with good enough trout populations to determine what actualy does and doesnt work as well as what areas of the river to target. By the end of next year I hope to better understand where they move and how they feed in all 4 seasons. I succeeded in making a few brown trout fishing videos in 2019 and learned a lot while breaking my PB Brown trout 5 or 6 times in less than 6 months.

I did a lot more Michigan trout fishing in 2019 than I have my whole life combined up to 2019. I live in Lansing Michigan. Trout fishing in Lansing consists of 1 public stocked pond where I’ve never caught a single fish let alone a trout, 1 private lake you can fish if you are a member and one creek that the DNR stocked years ago that still has a small amount of natural production but only brown trout no rainbow trout. I haven’t caught one in that creek either. So rather than trout fishing in lansing ive begun traveling to more legit Michigan trout fishing destinations.
