The first half of today’s show we’re discussing the stigma of addiction — especially drug addiction — with Arkansas state Drug Director Kirk Lane.

Then we speak with paramedic Matt Brumley (and his son, Josh) with the Saline Health Foundation about PANS/PANDAS, a serious autoimmune disorder that happens (mainly in children) when a strep infection triggers a misdirected immune response, resulting in inflammation of the brain. The disorder is characterized by a sudden onset of neuropsychiatric disorders, including severe anxiety, depression, OCD, behavioral and learning regression, facial tics and more.
