German residents of Ruegen island want to resume Nord Stream 2 certification

He stressed that an alternative gas supplier, Saudi Arabia, is "a dictatorship to the power of three", and that following that selective policy Berlin may remain with no gas supply.

The island of Ruegen drew media attention after mayors of its seven localities signed a letter to the federal government urging to continue certification of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline for its further usage.
