The greatest champion the NBA and Basketball as a whole will ever see has passed away at 88 years old. Bill Russell won 11 Championships and 5 MVP's as a player, and an additional 2 Championships as a Coach. He had many "firsts" in professional sports and overcome actual racism during the 1950's and 1960's in Boston.

While on legend is snuffed out after a life well lived, another never got a chance to take off. 20 Year Old Derek Gray of Wisconsin-Whitewater passed away of a massive heart attack while assisting at a summer camp for younger basketball players.
