Rebuilding Allis Chalmers 4 row planter for Branson tractor

Last year was the first year I used this old Allis Chalmers 4 row planter. I had a lot of issues with it, one of them being the seed chutes would clog with dirt if the ground was moist at all. So, instead of spending thousands on a no till drill planter I decided to rebuild most of this Allis Chalmers 4 row planter. Join us today to see the modifications that we made and how easy it was to replace the cutting discs. We used a mig welder to weld on small pieces of steel rebar across the bottom of the seed chute opening. This still left plenty of room for the seeds to come out but should really help reduce the clogging issue, or at least that's what I hope! Guess we'll find out this spring!
