Gunmen exchanged fire with soldiers present at a security checkpoint for Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei's visit to Huehuetenango, an army spokesperson said. While Giammattei was elsewhere during the incident and is unharmed, one of the gunmen was injured, the army spokesperson added. The incident occurred when the occupants of a car, which the soldiers had stopped, opened fire.
