There is a lot of debate going around as to what the difference is between CBD and THC and why, where cannabis is concerned, it is of any importance.

CBD is short for cannabidiol while THC is short for tetrahydrocannabinol, which may help you to understand why people prefer to use the abbreviations!

In addition, CBD and THC are just two of the over 130 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.
Cannabinoids, when they enter the bloodstream, attach themselves to cannabinoid receptors in the brain, which in itself has its own endocannabinoid system.

This is why the difference between THC and CBD becomes important.
Once attached to a cannabinoid receptor, brain neurons are admitted which affect the way we feel, and different neurons are emitted when THC attaches itself to a cannabinoid receptor than those emitted when CBD attaches itself.

That is why CBD has a more calming effect on your mind and body, while THC, which has psychoactive properties, makes you ‘high’, the euphoric effect many reactional smokes strive for.

Advances in science have now revealed that there are even more differences between CBD and THC.
CBD is now believed to act against anxiousness, is neuroprotective, is an anti-convulsant and can act as a painkiller and anti-inflammatory agent.

THC promotes euphoria, sleepiness and drowsiness, and is an appetite stimulant – known as “the munchies” – it’s also a painkiller and anti-emetic.

Of course this list goes on and on, and we’d love to know What are your thoughts are on the differences.
