Ran into to this unique lifter failure, It has a lifter tick when the vehicle gets warmed up. Takes 10-20 minutes before it starts to make noise. I also discover a reason for oil consumption on these Chevrolet engines. These issue's are not going to be AFM DOD specific and should be considered even without such a system.
