040: Racing to the Bottom; An Update on the $200K Taxpayer Giveaway
4 years ago
1
After raising taxes from an effective $0.12 to $0.15 because they said it was NECESSARY to provide essential city services, the City Council is seriously considering using $200,000 in taxpayer funds as an INCENTIVE to a commercial developer to put in a strip center that will include a fast-food restaurant at the corner of SH 205 & FM 550, even though the city HAS NO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN IN PLACE and they REFUSE TO SURVEY TAXPAYERS.
We will run through clips from the meeting & highlight more of the misinformation that is permeating this proposed plan.
