The Inspiration

Three good-looking and extremely brilliant young men from different parts of this country decided they would lend themselves to a greater cause by volunteering to be officers of Marines. So they jumped in. First up at bat was 3 months of the officers candidate school for the Marine Corps in the early 1970s. Boot camp. 50% washed out. We went on to The Basic School for Officers in the Fall of 1975 where we were, of course, stars. From there we joined the fleet marine forces of these United States and became leaders of the free world. Later, we descended upon the civilian world and, of course, were personally responsible for President Reagan's famous quote: "Some people live their entire lifetime and wonder if they ever made a difference to the world. Marines don't have that problem." -- Ronald Reagan.

Semper fidelis. And God bless the United States Marine Corps.
