Insulting Mohammed, the Quran and Allah is a capital crime in Islam, punished by the death penalty. We examine Ibn Taymiyyah's definitive work, The Unsheathed Sword (Against the One who Insults the Messenger) for the ruling. The Sharia is eternal, the Islamic consensus is fixed. While the Quran can be, and is, argued back and forth due to its sophist nature, the Sharia rulings commanding death are clear and can never be repealed, only abated or suspended temporarily.
