The Power of Intermarket Analysis | JC Parets

JC Parets, founder of All-Star Charts, breaks down his view of charting and why it is so important to successful trading. Parets looks at more than 5,000 price charts a week but ironically says that typically his trade signals have very little to do with a chart for that particular market. Parets employs Intermarket analysis and finding, which stock to purchase has little to do with the chart for that particular market, and more to do with his overall outlook and finding the specific underlying market with the best risk/reward profile based on his broad market analysis. Parets points out that he was extremely bearish stock in the fourth quarter of 2018. Despite his outlook, his research showed that a much better play for his analysis would be to go long bonds, which he did. This provided an extremely successful trade that did not face a massive reversal in Q1 of 2019. Parets also discusses the importance of creating a trading blog. While he has launched a successful business based on his charts and trading blog, the discipline of writing down all of his trading ideas has had a large factor in his overall success.
