A giant video screen fell and crushed two male dancers during music concert
A metal cord holding it up snapped during boyband Mirror's show in Hong Kong
It fell on the two performers at around 10.30pm in the Hong Kong Coliseum
The government asked for a safety review the day before the accident happened

A dancer could be left paralysed from the neck down after a giant screen crushed him during a Hong Kong show by boy band Mirror.

The sixteen-by-ten foot screen fell on the neck of Mo Lee Kai-yin, 27, before it toppled on another performer, Chang Tsz-fung, 29, at around 10.30pm during a concert in the Hong Kong Coliseum.

The dancers were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and it is believed that the impact of the screen dislocated the third and fourth section of Lee's cervical spine, according to South China Morning Post.

His head and lungs were also injured but it is unclear to what extent.

Hong Kong's government has revealed it asked the concert organiser to 'review and improve' safety the day before the accident happened.

John Lee, Hong Kong's chief executive, said: 'I am shocked. I express sympathy to those who were injured and hope that they would recover soon.'

Footage shows the screen falling on a dancer's neck as fans of the band screamed in shock.

One of the dancer's family are flying back from Canada to see him.

Three women at the concert, aged 16, 21 and 40, were treated for shock last night and one was sent to hospital.

Mr Lee ordered a comprehensive investigation of how the accident happened and a review of the safety rules of similar performance activities.

He added: 'The involvement of high-level [officials], to ensure matters will be given attention and dealt with appropriately, is also important.'
