What does it mean to be Spirit minded?
First...what is the mindset of the world?
• Do what it takes to get what you want. How...?
o By working for it
o Stiving for it
o Doing whatever it takes to get it
• Why do people do that?
o They don’t have it
o Believe that getting all they want will bring happiness, contentment, peace
• As Christians, our mindset should be just the opposite. Why...?
o We already have everything we need in Christ

So, if a wealthy person deposited a billion dollars in your bank account as a gift, would you still go to
work to pay the bills? Probably not.
II Peter 1: 2-3 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge
of Him who called us by glory and virtue, Notice, grace and peace are multiplied to us. How...?
• In the knowledge of Him
• In the knowledge of who we are in Him
Romans 8:32 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not
with Him also freely give us all things? So, if you are grasping, striving, trying harder to get something,
it means you don’t already have it.
I Corinthians 2: 12 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God,
that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
Want wisdom? I Corinthians 1:30 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from
God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—
Want Patience? You got it. It’s a fruit of the Spirit. It’s a byproduct, so why don’t we experience it often
enough? Because we don’t realize He literally is our patience!
What would it be like to go through our days knowing and truly believing that we have everything we
need? Truly understanding who we are in Christ.
