James Trusty, a lawyer for Mr. Trump, wrote to CNN on Tuesday,

James Trusty, a lawyer for Trump, sent a letter to CNN on Tuesday, saying the network had published "defamatory statements" about Trump 7,700 times. He demanded that the network retract or correct all of its stories and apologize within 10 days.

In the letter, Mr. Trusty cited dozens of examples, many of them stories related to Mr. Trump's repeated claims of "voter fraud" in the 2020 election, which CNN described as "lies," "false statements" and "baseless claims," among other things.
