Translation: "Good afternoon. We are the crew of the vessel Volgo-Balt 244. We are on the territory of Ukraine, in the port of the shipyard in the city of Izmail. We came here in early February for repairs. Repairs began, and on February 24 everything stopped because of the special military operation. We have become hostages of the situation. We cannot go ashore. We are guarded by armed men. They check us in the morning and in the evening every day, according to our passports. Today we cannot pay for mobile communication, which is now the only connection for us with the outside world and relatives. We cannot buy or pay for anything, since rubles are not accepted. Bank cards stopped working. Food and drinking water are in minimum quantities. We are 8 crew members on this vessel. All are citizens of Russia. Also on the territory of the yard there are several more Russian vessels with sailors of the Russian Federation as well: 59 crew members. There are 67 of us in total at two ship repair yards in Izmail."

Some detainees are students from Astrakhan -practitioners from the Maritime Academy. The guys worked on ships and were heading to Romania. One person who managed contact said that every day there was an inspection. Once the head of the border service came and offered to change citizenship. In general, the attitude is still acceptable, but no one knows what will happen the next day. Among them, there are elderly people who need medicines. The sailors are asking for help returning home.
