As partisan politics causes the media and others to deny that we're in a recession, talking heads in the press often cite "the strong jobs market" as reason why we're not in a recession. But when you dig into the numbers and what's been happening in the US economy since 1971, you soon realize that this "strong jobs market" is actually broken, and it's one of the main reasons why we're now in a recession.
