Episode 5 - Internet Throttling

Does anyone remember Net Neutrality? It was once upon a time. Nowadays, our Internet gets throttled. Sometimes into oblivion. Why? To manage the bandwidth? To channel us through certain Internet Lanes?

In short, do you get the real-life speed you are paying for?
Note, this throttling does not happen in Speed-Test sites. However, it happens nearly everywhere else.

In this video, I do the test via Valve’s Steam on Manjaro Linux. A big download with and without VPN. The difference in speed is simply astonishing. See for yourselves!
