In this informative video, Reid Henrichs of Valor Ridge demonstrates the Core Skills Test. Using less than 50 rounds, this test measures both speed and accuracy. See where you are by using this test the next time you go to the range. This test measures proficiency with the draw, ready positions, multiple rounds at speed, one handed accuracy, reloads, and distance work. This test will let you know what drills you need to work on moving forward.

How to Score Your Test:

Point total divided by total time, multiplied by 20.

Target is an IALEFI-Q or IDPA target scored: 5 points for hits inside the inner circle, 3 points for hits anywhere else on target.

Or, 5 points for hits inside inner circle, 4 points for hits inside outer circle but outside the inner circle, and 3 points for hits anywhere else on bottle.

40 rounds completed for a possible of 200 hit points.

For example, a person scores 186 target hit points. It took him 33.02 seconds total for all 9 stages. He plugs in 186 (his accuracy point total) divided by 33.02 (his total time) and multiples that number by a factor of 20. [186/33.02 = 5.63 X 20 for a final score of 112.65]

Par is 100

Very Good is a final score of 80-100.

Advanced is 100-124.

Master is 125 and above.
