Clearing & removing Big Honey Locust with Bobcat Mini Excavator Land management minute

02-15-20, Join me for today's land management minute as I take out the Bobcat e42 Mini excavator and do some land clearing of some scrubby trees. This particular Honey Locust tree, which if you don't know are full of insidious, long and hard spikes, was the biggest one in this area of clearing trees that I was working on. These are all 'scrub trees' with little value to wildlife so I am clearing land on this area to create a new wildlife opening and some new food sources for multiple animal species. We will be renting and doing a demo of a HEAVY DUTY WOOD CHIPPER very soon which can chip up to 18" trees and turn them into usable wood chips! Stay tuned for that! But for today lets maximize the power of the Bobcat Mini excavator and further our vision of improving our Illinois land to create some diversity for wildlife.
