Using a Drone to Watch a Farmer Harvesting a Cornfield During Drought Season

We were on our way between Seguin and New Braunfels Texas when we spotted these tractors harvesting out in the cornfield. We stopped to look, stuck a drone in the air, and the rest is in the video. We did hang around long enough to talk with the driver of the tractor that was pulling the trailer. He told us that this field normally yields about 4 18-Wheeler sized trailers worth of corn, but because of the drought conditions, he questioned if it would even fill up 2 full trailers his year.

He explained that the cost of planting and harvesting the field was higher, due to the economic conditions, but for half of the yield. Diesel fuel for the combine, tractor and 18-wheeler with it's trailer, were more than double the cost from 2 years ago. Fertilizer and the initial seed were higher as well.
