Theta Network - democratizing video creation, distribution, and monetization?

From the genesis of Zetetic.news we have had to consider the long term quandary of "where to put our content?" thanks to the monopolistic and artificially intelligent censorship / shadow banning complex on the big platforms. Obviously this is being viewed on youtube which we hypocritically still use...But much has already been said about the big tech's censorship of "non-mainstream" narratives, it bears not repeating here. Enter the innovations in blockchain and decentralization - we are seeing more and more alternatives to the centralized content delivery networks. Who will win and gain mainstream adoption? Who will offer affordable content delivery with a broad enough audience to warrant investment instead of "free" options like Youtube?

Theta Network is a promising project with a lot of 'smart money' backing - something we have been tracking for more than a year now. According to one of the Theta Labs advisors, Steve Chen, a co founder of YouTube:

Theta’s innovation is set to disrupt today’s online video industry much in the same way that the YouTube platform did to traditional video back in 2005. One of our biggest challenges had been the high costs of delivering video to various parts of the world, and this problem is only getting bigger with HD, 4K and higher quality video streams,” said Steve Chen, Co-Founder of YouTube. “I’m excited to be part of the next evolution of the streaming space, helping Theta create a decentralized peer-to-peer network that can offer improved video delivery at lower costs.

It seems likely given the startup's accomplishments so far.

If you do your research on Theta Token, it is clearly one of the most underrated and under reported on crypto coins of 2020 - but the question remains, will Theta be a democratizing tool for budding news platforms like ZNN to cheaply and freely distribute their content indepdendent from any platform?
