Scarlett is a political Scientist, mom of 5, daughter of a Marine Corps vet & Proud Latina. She's also a school board candidate, and fierce parental rights activist. She joins. me today to talk about her fight!

Scarlett was born in Milwaukee, but through her ten years as a U.S. Navy Spouse, she had her fair share of adventures before relocating to Mequon Wisconsin to make a permanent home. She graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BA in political science and U.S. History, and was a Ronald E. McNair Fellow at the University. She was a student at Marquette University Law School when she decided to put Law on hold to raise her son, and the four daughters who came later. She is now the proud mother of five children.

Due to the shutdown of in-person learning in 2020, Scarlett went from full-time mom to parent-activist. She organized protests, petition drives, and took a leadership position in her community parent group, formed to act as a watchdog over the Mequon-Thiensville School District. When the MTSD board abdicated their responsibility to vote on mitigation policy, instead authorizing the Superintendent to act unilaterally, Scarlett led the effort to recall four MTSD board members. Mequon and Loudon County were among the first nationalized parent revolts, and they were just the beginning. That successful recall effort over the Summer of 2021 inspired Scarlett to run for a seat on the MTSD Board of Education.
