045: How Good ol' boy Republicans Are Undermining Conservatism

To call oneself a Republican in Rockwall County, where 71% voted for Donald Trump, is meaningless.  It's why the mantra of the Bunker Bob show is that "A Republican DOES NOT a Conservative Make."

A conservative is one that believes in limiting the size and scope of government where restrictions to freedom and individual liberty should be rare. However, elected Republicans throughout the county prove that conservatism is foreign to them!

While keeping taxes low is the sound bite uttered by virtually every Republican, even when they are speaking in support of raising them, the conservative mindset establishes that the role of government is to do the most good, for the most people at the lowest cost.  A conservative would argue that unless all three of these standards can be established, the taxpayer should be free from an increase, but Republicans continue to grow and expand the size and scope of government at every level.

Conservatives hold to the fundamental principle that government should be OF, BY, and FOR the people; that those who are elected be their representatives whose tenure in office is limited.  Yet it appears that Republican's in Rockwall County are run by a political machine of elite career-minded trustees, good ol' boys who believe that they know what's best for the rest of us, even when the rest of us express through our vote clear opposition.

Donald Trump continues to be despised by establishment republicans in Washington just as Conservatives like us are despised by the good ol' boys in Rockwall County.

While conservatism may not be dead in Rockwall County, the tide of incremental liberalism has put it under attack, unless we the people push back against this rising tide!

Today's show exposes what's happening to undermine conservatism inside the Republican Party machine and how you can help return the heart of Republicanism back into a Grand Old Party!
