MSI Gaming X 1660 Super broken? $150 OfferUp score for crypto mining Ethereum

I'm always lookout for local deals on GPU's. The got this from a guy that said it would crash in windows idling longer then 5 minutes. I thought it was weird because GPU's usually overheat and crash during full load. I took the risk for $150. I figured I might have to replace the thermal pads or repaste the heatsink. Worst case scenario I would have to reflow some solder.
