Singularity is a game set in both 2010, 1955, any anywhere between, before, and after. The story is based around a what if...? The Soviet Union discovered a new element on a top secret research island. An element capable of alteration of the electromagnetic field, and thus also of time and space, that is also capable of capturing and then releasing vast amounts of energy?

The game begins at a point where the (according to the secret services) now fifty years abandoned island is to be reconed by a two-man team, however their transport is destroyed by an electromagnetic wave that suddenly rises from inside the island. The pilot does not survive, and the recon's communications are only able to reach the russian-occupied coast. As the surviving captain Renko, the player finds out that the waves which go out, also go back in... back in the past, he saves himself and a nameless, unimportant man from burning alive. But back in the present, he finds out that he changed the past, the present, and the future. The waves are being sent out by a five-decades old reactor which continuously keeps on generating energy from the mysterious element E99, despite having exploded those same fifty years ago. The unrestrained energies keep on crackling from inside the power plant, and trap anyone in its reach, forcing them to live through their lives, deaths, and exist in both states at once. To live through all of their days, including the day that the reactor exploded over and over, for eternity. Katorga 12, as is the power plant code-named, is still bustling with movement of its former, present, and future inhabitants, who will never know, how will their life end.

Singularity, je hra zasazená v v rocích 2010, 1955, a kdykoliv mezi nimi. Příběh je založen na základě cobykdyby....: sovětský svaz nalezl na ukrývaném ostrově nový prvek---kov schopný alterace elektromagnetického pole, a tedy alterace času a prostoru, ale kromě toho také uvolňování obrovských množství energie? Hra začíná v bodě kdy se na (podle světových tajných služeb již padesát let opuštěný) ostrov helikoptérou vydává dvoučlenný průzkumný tým, jehož helikoptéra je rázem zničena elektromagnetickou vlnou která je z ostrova vyslána - pilot pád nepřežije, a z ostrova není možné se dovolat dál než coby vysílačkou dohoil, což u ruských břehů není ideální. Jak se hráč coby přežilý kapitán Renko na vlastní hodinky dozvídá, vyslané vlny se také vracejí... a když jste v minulosti, stačí zachránit před smrtí uhořením i nějakého bezvýznamného ruského muže, a změníte svět minulost, přítomnosti, i budoucnosti. Vlny jsou vysílány dávno explodovaným reaktorem který stále produkuje energii z ložiska prvku E99 na jehož nálezišti byl postaven, jenže energie není kontrolována, a tak z prasklého reaktoru jsou vysílány tyto vlny a cokoliv a kdokoliv, kdo byl na ostrově v minutu exploze, je posmrti, ale zároveň žije, a tyto dvě podoby se střídají s každou vlnou, odsuzujíce lapené členy personálu energetického komplexu KATORGA-12 k opakovanému prožívání své smrti, a zároveň k prožívání budoucnosti které se nikdy nedožili.
