Pope Francis visits Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples (with English interpretation)

Pope Francis meets with members of the Indigenous and parish communities as he visits the Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples in Edmonton. The church re-opened on July 17, 2022, after its building was destroyed by fire in 2020. The Pope is visiting Canada from July 24 to 29 to meet with Indigenous peoples and to address the role of the Catholic Church in Canada’s residential school system. The papal visit also includes stops in Quebec City and Iqaluit. (July 25, 2022)
