Nikolas Cruz trial: Jury gets first look at gun, bullets used in Parkland school shooting

A Florida court on Monday got its first look at the gun and bullets allegedly used by Nikolas Cruz to kill 17 people at Parkland's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018.

Sergeant Gloria Crespo testified she found the semi-automatic Smith&Wesson rifle on a third-floor stairwell, as well as a vest Cruz was wearing to carry the munition for the AR-15 style weapon. Crespo said there were five gun magazines containing 160 bullets in the vest.

Cruz, who was a 19-year-old expelled student at the time of the massacre, will be sentenced to life in prison without parole if any of the 12 jurors objects to the death penalty.
