The Truth on No-Fee Trading | Christine Benz

Christine Benz from Morningstar describes the movement in assets from mutual funds to exchange-traded funds. Benz notes that active managers have not felt the pain from this because of the expanding stock market and the test will come when the market corrects and there will not be the growth that active funds have depended on over the last decade. She also explains how the bull market has been supported by the Federal Reserve's intervention in the markets. She warns that although no-fee trading may seem beneficial, brokers are in business to make money and investors are paying through other means, most like through interest on their cash holdings.
