Statues of Pushkin removed in Ukraine

According to RIA Novosti, on April 10, local time, a statue of Pushkin in the city of Uzhgorod, Ukraine was removed. The statue of Pushkin was hung from the head and then separated from the base. Recently, the cities of Ternopol and Mukachevo in Ukraine have also taken the practice of removing Pushkin statues. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the Ukrainian government has taken provocative "de-Russification" measures for many years. He said that Russia would like to see Ukraine as a friendly country that does not ban Russian culture and the Russian language.
