Ben Shapiro says that the founding fathers would have died laughing if they knew about marriage equality. The Majority Report crew discuss how many things would surprise the founding fathers, such as women's voting rights and the emancipation of slaves. The 14th amendment was established 100 years after the Bill of rights, which established equal protection. Shapiro goes on to state that same-sex marriage is not in the constitution as neither is marriage between two people of the opposite sex. The MR crew talks about how Right-wing fundamentalists like Shapiro want to distract from Roe v Wade with the idea of getting rid of marriage equality because it is possible with the many cracks in the system.

...Overturned Roe v Wade I know this may be counterintuitive, but they are trying to shift the playing field like a limited hangout, I guess, is what you could almost call it. They don't want people to pay attention to the fact that we're going to have 26 states in this country where abortion is going to be illegal. They don't want people to pay attention to the fact that the tens of thousands of women and child birthers who have ectopic pregnancies are in grave health risk. They don't want to talk about the fact that girls young girls will be forced to carry pregnancies. They don't want to talk about that they don't want to talk about the likelihood of a 50-state federal abortion ban. They feel more secure in talking about overturning marriage equality and being homophobic and transphobic.
