The flag of India is a horizontal tricolor of deep saffron at the top, white in the middle, and dark green at the bottom. The design is based on the flag of the Indian National Congress, and it was adopted in its present form during a meeting of the Constituent Assembly held on 22 July 1947, just three days before India gained independence from the British Empire. The flag was subsequently retained as that of the Republic of India. This Indian Flag is a high-quality reproduction of the Indian National Flag. This is a fully sewn product with hand embroidered detailing. The flag has been printed on polyester material with a double-sewn hem on the three sides. It has been finished with a thick canvas heading and brass grommets.
