Hello. I am Daniel Shayesteh.I was a committed Muslim politician, leader and teacher and was involved in the Islamic Revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran. But a simple criticism of the Ayatollah Khomeini got me into serious trouble. I was arrested, put on trial and sentenced to death. However, I was fortunate to escape certain execution and fled to Turkey.
As a refugee in Turkey, I undertook studies for a PhD in cultures, religions and philosophies and their association with success in business and social affairs. To my utter surprise, though still a Muslim, I found that it was the values of Islam that were failing Islamic countries. On the other hand, I was shocked to discover that the values of Christ seemed to be the very source of freedom, creativity and progress in western societies. This led me to study Christianity more thoroughly - at a spiritual level. Everything about it convinced me to believe and led me to become a follower of Jesus Christ. I discovered that Understanding counts and leads to Freedom.
