HALF HUMAN 1955 - A group of people take a ski trip to the Japanese Alps where local villagers tell the legend of a mountain beast. Some of the group go missing so the others search for them and find signs of a mysterious giant Yeti-like creature. Real trouble starts when an animal broker shows up, intent on capturing the creature for profit.

Toho produced this Ishiro Honda film right after the success of Godzilla, feeling a Yeti-like creature was more plausible and yet they had a sequel to Godzilla in production at the same time. After the film was completed Toho decided not to release it widely thinking that the depiction of the mountain villagers was too much of a negative stereotype. This is the rare & complete Japanese version as still exists in the best possible quality we could locate. It is 30 minutes longer than the US edited & dubbed version, and has English subtitles.
