Pope Francis visits former residential school site in Maskwacis, Alberta. Canada(with English interpretation)

Pope Francis meets with members of First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities and with survivors from across the country as he visits the site of the former Ermineskin Residential School in Maskwacis, Alberta. The Ermineskin school was one of the largest institutions of its kind in the country. This is the Pope's only visit to a former residential school during his time in Canada. The pontiff is visiting Canada from July 24 to 29, with stops also in Quebec City and Iqaluit. (July 25, 2022)
