25 Jul 22, Knight Moves: Precepts of the Catholic Church (Pt. 2)

Today's Topics:

1) Greg and Mark give a recap of the last week's episode, which discussed the first three Precepts of the Catholic Church: 1. You shall attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation. 2. You shall confess your sins at least once a year. 3. You shall receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist at least during the Easter Season,

2) The Fourth Precept: You shall observe the days of fasting and abstinence established by the Church. Saint Augustine stated that "fasting cleanses the soul." Saint Basil said that "penance without fasting is useless and vain, by fasting we satisfy God,"

3) The Fifth Precept: You shall help to provide for the needs of the Church. The discussion of tithing versus almsgiving demonstrated that tithing is giving what is due and almsgiving is going above and beyond what is due,

4) This segment discussed how the Knights of Columbus and their Faith in Action Programs assist men and thus their families in following the Precepts of the Catholic Church.
