Cutting spalted hackberry logs into knife handles

My wife found a limb that had fallen off the osage orange tree about a year ago. Laying on the ground and going through several cycles of getting wet and drying out, caused a fungus to form. That is what spalted wood actually is. I cut up two pieces yesterday and I have 3 more that are much larger. I cant believe all the amazing wood I got from this. ITS A GOLD MINE!!
