It’s important that we understand the difference between holy days and holidays, and the purpose thereof. The Lord commanded that we do not partake in man’s traditions, because they cause us to lose sight of the importance of his holy days, which are his plan for our salvation. In this lesson, we’re going to go over why you should think twice before paying reverence to traditions created by man.

UPDATE: Not all traditional celebratory days are forbidden. As long as they do not conflict with the Law, they are acceptable. Do your due diligence. If you are not sure, DO NOT partake in it.
