Jim served as President of the Montgomery County Board of Elections and has resigned to run for this office. Before moving to Maryland in 1989 to become an attorney in the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice, Jim was an Assistant Attorney General in New York. Prior to that, he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx, New York, rising to the position of Chief of the Homicide Bureau. Jim prosecuted David Berkowitz, the “Son of Sam” killer for three murders in the Bronx. Since 1994, Jim has been in private law practice in Montgomery County, Maryland.
