Newborn Baby, Abandoned at Old Dumpsite in Brgy. Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City Cebu Philippines

A newborn baby girl, who was abandoned on a vacant lot, in Sitio Sangi, Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, was rescued at 1:30 p.m. July 23, by personnel of Barangay Pajo.

The child was found by a tricycle driver who was about to urinate but he found a 5-day-old baby girl in an abandoned place. The baby was placed in a plastic bag and hidden in the bushes.

The umbilical cord was still there and the child was smelly when found. It has no clothes and scars on its back that are believed to be animal bites.

The newborn baby girl is in good health and has been turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
