Flying pushup at gym
1. Take your strongest pushup position, with hands and feet on the floor, and focus on what stance 'feels' the strongest.
2. Brace your core. Imagine someone will punch you in the stomach. Or the ground beneath will start crumbling or caving down. Then close your eyes and take a deep breath.
3. Descend a little, bending your elbows, till your chest almost touches the ground. Take one more deep breath if required, and come up with explosive force by pushing the ground beneath you with both your palms and your feet.
4. Make sure you touch the ground back with all fours, rather than just falling on your abdomen. While landing, keep your joints loose instead of tight, so as to absorb the impact of the fall - like a cat's jump. That will also let you descend back smoothly, for the second rep.
