Sin, Conflict Resolution, and Forgiveness

This thought provoking teaching aired on Facebook recently. The author/speaker's name is Brian Anderson. Looking into the Book of Matthew, Brian has expounded on Chapter 18 and what it means to confront someone in sin.

Are we meant to give a blanket forgiveness to everyone to release our own pain or is it more complicated than that? What if the guilty party does not turn from the sin and repent, do we still forgive?

Is the real instruction "lost in translation" like so many other scriptural truths?
