Memorize His verses today! When we remember Bible verses every day, we are more prepared for whatever the world throws at us. Today's Bible verse is Ephesians 6:16, “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one”

Paul commonly used references to battle and soldiers to make his point clear to his readers. Ephesians chapter 6, verses 10 through 20, describe the whole armor of God. Paul is explaining how we can find security in the strength of the Lord and His protection. The shield referenced in verse 16 was a significant piece. The shields of the time were approximately 2 feet by 4 feet, made of wood, and soaked in water so they wouldn’t burn when defending from arrows of fire. Just as a soldier could protect their whole body with such a large shield, Paul tells us that our shield of faith completely covers us.

When we memorize His word every day, it equips us with the Word of God to defend ourselves against the enemy’s will. Number 4 - Jesus instructs us in the Great Commission, Mathew 28:16-20, that we are to continue the work He started by spreading His Good News to the ends of the earth. Today's Bible verse helps us remember His word when we need it to fulfill this instruction from Him. Number 5 - Scripture is God's wisdom to help us live more productive lives as we fulfill our purpose for His kingdom. God's word is alive, and when we remember a verse a day will help us experience all of what that means in our life. As we remember a verse a day, we are more prepared for biblical living.
