David goes on a full scale destructothon this Christmas as he peeks in boxes, breaks things, and impatiently waits for the big man himself to come down the chimney. Will Santa Claus give David any presents? Has he been naughty or nice? I contrast David's trouble with my own memories of childhood in this reading of another of David Shannon's fun and entertaining picture books for children. Once again, the message is clear that although children can get in a lot of trouble, their parents still love them!

When I first learned to read as a child, I struggled with understanding how to pronounce certain blends of letters. I loved that I could sound out some things, but with other words it was nearly impossible. It took a lot of practice and time to learn how to say and spell many of the words I use all the time now. I love reading and writing and feel although these skills can be difficult to acquire, they will change the course of the future for any child. That's why it's so important to keep trying even when it's hard. For many young children, books seem boring and the idea of practicing reading and writing sounds terrible. I hope that my videos can help brighten some children's attitude toward reading. Some books may be boring, but some are not. Some are wonderful. I hope your children can keep at it and learn to read so they can find wonderful books they will love throughout their lives.
