Farm Animals - Rare Breeds - Nonfiction Book - Read Aloud.

This is a non-fiction book from the big part of the library about farm animal breeds. There’s a Pig section, a Cow section, a Sheep and Goat section, a Horse section, and a Chicken section. Throughout I’ve tried to include good reference videos and photos to illustrate what I talk about. This is a kind of free form exploration of a big reference book from the library pretty much the way I used to go through books like this when I was a kid.

Non fiction can be a great way to get young kids who don’t like reading to discover books that will motivate them to read. Books about biology, archaeology, history, science, chemistry, zoology, gardening, cooking, paleontology, flight, outer space, engineering, or technology can be a great gateway for children that just can’t seem to find interest in story books. That’s okay. These children should learn that reading is good for so much more than just getting a story. It’s a way to unlock all kinds of knowledge and information about the world.
