The Ghosts of the Ukraine: Origins of U.S. Interference, Geography in the Crisisis

How is it that the United States finds itself in the center of the war in Ukraine, a country thousands of miles from our shores and, as some have noted, with very little to no strategic importance to U.S. global priorities?

We need to remind our friends and audience of three factors that are at work here:

a. the origins of U.S. interference in Ukraine
b. the role of geography in the crisis
c. the dynamics of how geography and U.S. geopolitical goals merge to form current U.S. Ukraine policy.
