#GVOS2020 - Dendrobium Roy Tokunaga

Apologies for the slight distortion toward the end of this video. I have tried several times to clean up the rendering by changing settings, without much success. I hope that you will enjoy the video regardless of the small glitch at the end.

Roy Tokunaga is a fabulously rewarding dendrobium hybrid. In general, blooms on dendrobiums don't wow with their size, some wow with their fragrance, which is why this hybrid is so popular with collectors. Its blooms are XXL for dendrobiums, but it gave up any hint of fragrance in the process. In this case, the lack of fragrance is forgiven because the blooms are not only large but also very long lasting (up to 5 weeks). I grow mine in 100% leca and have it in a self-watering set up. It does not need a winter rest, but there is no point in using any fertilizer while it is not in growth. Which is very rarely the fact. Currently, mine is in bloom, it has matured 2 new growths while forming the spikes and buds & it is now starting 2 new growths wile still in bloom. What's not to like?
