Hondo Police Patrol Bag & The 221B Tactical K9 Body Armor Vest Donation Program

Our newest police patrol bag for law enforcement officers to carry in their patrol cars is like no other bag on the market today. However it's features are not the best part.

The Hondo Patrol Bag got it's name from a police K-9 that was killed in the line of duty. On February 13, 2020 K9 Hondo of The Herriman City Police Department was shot and killed while attempting an apprehension of a wanted subject in the area of 445 East and 300 South in downtown Salt Lake City shortly before midnight.

K9 Hondo and his handler, Sgt. Ben Ricks, were assisting the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team serve the warrant. The wanted parolee exited an apartment and pulled out a handgun as he fled on foot. As K9 Hondo attempted an apprehension he was shot as task officers fired at the subject. The wanted subject was also killed.

K9 Hondo had proudly served in law enforcement for over four years. His passing hit his police agency and all who knew him very hard; especially the family of Sgt. Ricks.

In honor of Hondo and with the blessing of Sgt. Ricks, I decided to name this after him. Additionally, for every Hondo Patrol Bag sold, a portion of the proceeds will be put into a separate fund. The monies in this fund will be used to donate a K-9 body armor vest to a K-9 handler in need.
